Abstract

Honey-bee colonies in fruit orchards (apple and plum) often collect much dandelion pollen. Bees visiting dandelion become conditioned to it and, even when the dandelion flowers close towards midday, only a small percentage of bees change to fruit. The elimination of dandelion from orchards should increase the pollinating efficiency of the honey-bee colonies present.-s.
