An algorithm for estimating the length and direction of shadows with reference to the shadows of shelter belts.
Abstract
Gives an ALGOL procedure that computes the length and direction of shadows from data on the geographical location, date, time of day and height of the obstacle casting the shadow, and illustrates its use from a study of the light climate round shelterbelts with different orientation, near Edinburgh.
