A Robinson light trap modified for segregating samples at predetermined time intervals, with notes on the effect of moonlight on the periodicity of catches of insects.
Abstract
The following is virtually the authors' summary. An account is given of a modified Robinson-type light-trap [cf. RAE A 43 169] for segregating samples within predetermined time intervals throughout the night. Results obtained with Spodoptera exempta (Wlk.) in eastern Africa [cf. 57 1600] are given to illustrate the use to which such a trap may be put and to demonstrate the effect that the lunar cycle may have on the size of catches at different periods of the night.
