Photosynthesis in sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis (Bong.) Garr.). 1. General characteristics.
Abstract
A study of P. sitchensis from five North American provenances, ranging between latitudes 47°N. and 57°N., indicated that maximum net photosynthesis tended to be greater in trees from the more northerly provenances than in those from the southern provenances while the reverse was true for stomatal and mesophyll resistance.
