Fluxes of visible and net radiation within a forest canopy.
Abstract
Data are presented for the transmission of photosynthetically active radiation through a Douglas Fir forest canopy, and for the net radiation profile within the canopy. These data are discussed in relation to the Lambert-Beer law for attenuation of radiation. It is recommended that logarithmic profiles of net radiation should not be used in computer simulations of ecosystems. [Cf. FA 33, 3062].
