The agronomic role of introduced dung beetles in grazing systems.
Abstract
The responses by pasture plants to the burial of dung by beetles may be large in the area of the dung pat due to a reduction of smothering and the deeper placement of phosphorus and nitrogen. However, over the whole of a paddock, the responses are not likely to influence animal production, even in heavily stocked pastures.
