Trends and effects of organochlorine compounds in sparrowhawk eggs.
Abstract
A statistical study of breeding success, eggshell index, and DDE, HEOD and PCB levels in Accipiter nisus eggs collected from 17 areas in Britain during 1971-80. The negative relationship between eggshell index and log DDE confirmed the findings of previous studies. During the period HEOD levels in eggs declined, whereas levels of DDE and PCB declined in the mid-70s, then increased.
