Stomatal conductance and photosynthesis in a mature Scots pine forest. II. Dependence on environmental variables of single shoots.
Abstract
In measurements made on a 45-yr-old stand at Thetford Forest, East Anglia, UK, from Mar. to Oct. 1976, the relative importance of atmospheric water vapour saturation deficit, air temp., incident quantum flux density, leaf temp., and needle water potential as determinants of shoot conductance and photosynthesis were examined. The results suggest that each environmental variable may act independently.
