Stomatal conductance and photosynthesis in a mature Scots pine forest. III. Variation in canopy conductance and canopy photosynthesis.
Abstract
In measurements made on a 45-yr-old stand at Thetford Forest, East Anglia, UK, from Mar. to Oct 1976, data on shoot conductance and photosynthesis were combined with data on leaf area of the canopy to calculate values for the whole canopy. Diurnal and seasonal variation are described in relation to changing leaf area and environmental variables (particularly water vapour saturation deficit and radiation).
