Estimating the biomass of large mammalian herbivores in a tropical montane forest: a method of faecal counting that avoids assuming a 'steady state' system.
Abstract
Faecal counting techniques were used to census 5 large mammalian herbivore species during 1988-89 in the Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda: Cephalophus nigrifrons, Tragelaphus scriptus, Syncerus caffer, Gorilla gorilla beringei, Loxodonta africana.
