Abstract
Many large-scale projects affecting large areas of water (including coastal areas and rivers) are planned in the coming years as part of the Dutch Delta programme. This will create opportunities for recreation and nature development. Out of 17 potential projects, 9 were selected where early involvement of the Ministry of Economic Affairs would be suitable. Four other projects were already too far implemented but were very useful as learning projects. The remaining 4 projects have additional complexity due to international obligations.
