Observer Variation in the Use of a Method of Assessing Current Herbivore Impacts in Woodland.
Abstract
This study highlights the Woodland Herbivore Impact Assessment Method (WHIA) by comparing the results obtained by fifteen surveyors assessing the same four sites with High, Medium-High and Medium impact levels on the browsing/grazing indicators. Comparing sites with Low and Medium impacts may yield different results. It is, however, difficult to find such sites.
