Abstract

This summary focuses on people's connection to nature (CTN), distinct from mere contact with nature. CTN involves an emotional bond with the natural world, beyond simple exposure. It highlights correlations between CTN, well-being, education, pro-environmental behaviors, and conservation efforts. Factors influencing CTN include exposure, childhood experiences, location, socioeconomic status, and lifestyle. CTN's relevance for addressing climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental challenges is evident. The COVID-19 pandemic and climate change have influenced CTN interactions. While CTN research has grown, causal links remain unclear, and long-term impacts and diverse populations are understudied. More rigorous research is essential to inform interventions and initiatives.
