Articles and our Governance Structure
Our Articles set out the legal framework in which our Society operates; they can only be amended by agreement from our Society’s membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is held in association with the Annual Meeting. You can read the current Articles, under ‘Useful Documentation’ at the bottom of this page.
Our 2020 AGM will be held online at 12:45 UK time on Wednesday 16th December 2020 via Zoom. This year, any member of the Society can join the AGM using the Zoom link, not just those registered to attend the Festival of Ecology conference.
The Zoom link is contained in the email sent to all members on 11 November 2020 giving notice of the AGM. All members will also receive an email from CES, the provider of our online election platform, on 12 November 2020, giving details of how to vote for Board of Trustee vacancies. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the BES membership team (Membership@BritishEcologicalSociety.org) if you don’t receive either email.
