Help shape the future of your Society on a BES Committee
Committees oversee the workings of the BES, from the journals we publish and the events we run, to policy work, and support for education and careers. Sitting on a Committee is a powerful way to contribute your voice and help shape the future of your Society.
We asked two of our committee members about their experience.
Tin Hang (Henry) Hung
BES Events Committee
“I can’t be more grateful to be part of the Events Committee, where we always strive to facilitate a transparent and inclusive BES for all – making everyone count, making ecology count.
“I’d definitely recommend considering joining a BES Committee.”
Marianne Freeman
BES Grants Committee and Education & Careers Committee
“I was full of ‘imposter syndrome’ when I attended my first Education & Careers Committee meeting, but I didn’t need to be nervous as the staff and other Committee members were so friendly and welcoming, and were keen to give me roles to make me feel involved.”
Have Henry and Marianne inspired you? There are several Committee vacancies currently open, closing on 19th April 2021.
